TA DA!

Remember the One Red Sock? Well, its' fraternal twin was born today! That's right, fraternal twin; because they're not identical. Get it? Ha, I crack me up sometimes!

As soon as they were off the needles, I put those babies on and started admiring them.

I am inordinately in love with these socks!

The pattern is so interesting; with so many different stitch patterns!

And would you just look at that texture?

And they're so red; my favorite color of all time!

They're like works of art, I tell you! They should really be put on display.

The details: Jo-Ann Sensations Bamboo & Ewe in Red (Ravelry link). This is the second pair I've made in this yarn and it's become one of my new favorites; very reasonably priced, softens nicely after washing, and no dye bleeding. It's a little difficult to find this on the Jo-Ann website, which doesn't show the label, so I'm thinking this might be on it's way out or maybe being re-branded so it doesn't conflict with Debbie Stoller's new yarn of a similar name but in worsted weight.
I followed the pattern for the most part (Oh, stop it; I did, too!) and knit these on US 1 dpns and they fit my size 8 1/2 feet very snugly before washing. I used Judy's Magic Cast On instead of the cast on called for in the pattern and used Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off at the cuff.
ETA: Many thanks to my friend, Kelly Petkun, for sending me to ask what the pattern is! I suppose I should add that to the stats, huh? Well, duh! It's Magic Mirror (Ravelry link) by Jeannie Cartmel and it's free! Jeannie has some fabulous sock patterns; go on over to Ravelry and peruse her patterns.

  3. Those totally ROCK! And what awesome modeling. If Tyra Banks ever does "America's Next Sock Model" you are a shoe-in.

  4. No more Woman with One Red Sock...
The socks are truly great, and look like they were a whole lot of fun to knit. How are they standing up to the Happy Dance?
